Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture  needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.

PBIS is based on 4 components: Data, systems, practices, and ouctomes. When all supports are put in place, our goal is to create a positive enviornment for ALL of our students.

Our Wilson Wims PBIS Mission Statment Is:

Each classroom will have a system in place to reward students for positive behavior. Teachers will explain their systems at BAck to School Night.

Students will also have the opportunity to earn a Wonderful Wildcat. A Wonderful Wildcat earned when a student has went above and beyond the school expectations. When a student earns a  Wonderful Wildcat, they are able to read it over the announcements!

As part of PBIS and Toolkit, every classroom will be taught self-refection. When a student makes a mistake, they will have a chance to learn from the experience so that they can do better next time. With the first mistake, they will have a verbal inquiry. The second mistake the fill out the first self reflection and the Third mistake the self reflection could go home for parent signature. The self reflections focus on "What tools could you have used?" and " How would those tools have changed the situations?"
